Two Day Visit to Elephant Land - Chiangmai Elephant Land

Itinerary
08.00-08.30: Pickup from your hotel.
The drive to Elephant Land, on the border of Doi Inthanon National Park, is approximately two hrs. On the way we will stop for a comfort break and refreshments at a local market. The latter part of the drive (10 km) will take you through scenic rice-fields, hill tribe villages and remote jungle to our hidden paradise, which can only be reached using an off-road vehicle.

.

.

Here you will be introduced to your elephants and spend some time getting to know each other by feeding and playing.

We will then take the elephants for a walk with their mahouts, where you can enjoy observing their natural herd behaviors such as foraging, communicating, rubbing on trees, and relaxing deep in the jungle.

.

.

The walk (about 60 min depending on the weather), which can include forests, steep jungle terrain, as well as the terraced rice paddy fields and beautiful scenery of the Karen hill tribe lands, loops back to camp where a delicious lunch awaits.

You can then spend more time with the elephants back at the camp, feeding them and taking personal photos.

As the sunsets you will enjoy a traditional dinner and fall asleep in the peaceful, quiet jungle.

Depending on the time of year, we will take an eco-walk to enjoy the panoramic mountain views and biodiversity of the Kew Mae Pan (open Nov-Apr) or Pha Dok Seaw (open May-Oct) nature trails; trekking time approximately 2.30-3.00 hrs.

.

.

.

After lunch at a local restaurant, we will drive to see the nearby twin stupas of their Royal Majesties King Bhumibol and Queen Sirikit, and the picturesque surrounding gardens.
